Regardless of what the dog “knows” it is important to have control during those times you need it most, such as under distraction.  Training is not accomplished with bribes, but with tapping into the dog’s motivation.   A dog cannot be reasoned with like a child would.  There is a different psychology involved, we can call it Dog Psychology.  A well-trained dog has a better life than an out of control dog with total freedom.  I have noticed something very interesting.  Dog owners have a different definition of what a “well trained dog” is.  What is Yours?

Clear Communication with your Canine

I believe there is no “one size fits all” for dog training or behavioral modification. Often, a different approach is called for in each situation. My philosophy is based on making things clear for the dog and showing them what behaviors I want- setting them up for success. I want to motivate and reward the dog, and have the owner and dog working as a team!  I use techniques that are proven to work, and are tailored for each dog.  Don't be fooled- ignoring problems does not make them go away.  I will not waste your time, and you will get the results you expect, and more!

There is a solution for any problem, and there is a plan to reach any goal.

I have noticed something very interesting. Pet owners, and pet dog trainers alike, all seem to have a different definition of what a “well trained dog” is. If you spend time and $$$ on obedience training, you should be able to expect a certain standard of results.  I am talking about concrete things, such as a dog that heels and does not pull, or who listens under any distraction.  What happened to expecting results?  What happened to setting a training goal, and accomplishing it?

A dog cannot be reasoned with like a child would. Dogs also have their own special learning needs that have to be understood and fufilled. There is a different psychology involved, we can call it Dog Psychology. Before "operant conditioning" and "behavioral theories" we had something called "common sense of how to understand a dog".

Remember- you deserve to enjoy your bond with your dog!  You are a team.  If you want a well-behaved, advanced off-leash trained dog, that is what you will get with my guidance.
