DOG SELECTION SERVICES
Most people thoroughly research a car before they buy it- they look up reviews, they find a good dealership, they want to know what they‘re getting and find the right model. While a car might last a few years before we trade up, a dog should be different. A dog can live on average 15 years, so it is a decision that should not be based on impulse and emotion.
It seems everyone like neighbors, friends, even your hair stylist has an opinion on dogs, and will describe the traits of their chosen favorite breed. I’m sure you’ve heard “Chows are mean,“ “German Shepherds are the smartest!“ “All Golden Retrievers are friendly” but it’s simply not true- I have met mean, aggressive Goldens, nice family-dog Chows, and dumb as rocks German Shepherd Dogs. The truth is, within ANY breed you will find both good and bad, there are many temperamental and even behavioral variations within a given breed, it depends on genetics and breeding. This is why choosing a dog is a decision that should have the valuable input of a dog professional.
So what can I do for you?
I can determine what behavior traits might be a great fit, what age, what sex, what breed, and furthermore, I can help find your new pet. Whether it’s from a top notch champion breeder across the country, or a local rescue group, I will match you with the right dog. My job is to obtain and train.
I have a questionaire that will get me started.
